Order CD or DVD Duplication and Custom Printing
Order CD or DVD Duplication and Custom Printing

In our business "Replication" usually refers to a plastic injection process as shown in the "How is a CD Made?" option on the left. The process is the same for DVDs as CDs for the most part.
"Duplication" is where we start with a blank recordable disc and use recorders with a laser to etch your data onto the disc.
Duplication has faster turnaround times so it's used when you're in a rush. Most of our duplication ships out the same day we get your materials but of course that depends on several factors. Duplication is also cheaper for small orders.
We typically use high quality inkjet printers to put your label on the disc. The results can look much better than silk screen printing, which is a lower resolution. Inket full color printing is our standard print for duplication jobs. For an additional fee you can get a premium print which is waterproof and has a high gloss finish.
These orders are best placed by calling 800-860-2376 and talking to a sales representative because there are a number of variables such as packaging etc. The sales representative will get you pricing for you needs and take your order right over the phone.
We are currently NOT accepting music jobs for duplication because of problems clearing Copyrights. We don't want to make any illegal discs so we need to make certain our customers own the songs they want on the disc. We WILL replicate those jobs for you so call for pricing.
These instructions will help you be prepared for your duplication job.
1. Just make a CD-R in a mode 1 disc-at-once format for a source. Please do not send Zip or Jaz cartridges as the cost in returning these items to you is more than the cost of a CD-R. Your source data CD-R and artwork will not be returned to you unless you request it. It will be destroyed when your job is completed
2. Print off a Duplication Order Form and fill it out in its entirety. Forms that aren't completed will delay the order and possibly keep you from getting your discs when you need them.
3. Read the Licensing Requirements*, and then Print off an anti-piracy form and fill it out. These forms must be filled out before we will do any duplication/replication job.
4. Send us the three forms, along with your source data, with any artwork files for the inkjet printing of the discs to the address listed below. The artwork should be in a high resolution TIF or JPG file format. Also if you can, send us a sample of what the disc looks like. Call us for information about labeling and we'll tell you what we need for this labeling process should you have questions.
5. When the package arrives here at our facility we will start working on it as soon as possible. We produce most of our duplication jobs on a same day turn in most cases but we can not guarantee that turn around time. Call for a quote. 800-860-2376

*Mechanical Royalties Policy

This information is about requirement under the IRMA anti-piracy program, that is being implemented by CD Solutions, Inc. effective October 1, 2002.

This requirement is in reference to protecting the "mechanical royalties" of the music publisher for an audio recording. If anyone sings a song written by someone else and that song is copyrighted, then royalties must be paid to the owner of the song. (Previously, IRMA requirements only protected the original artist's recording.) These royalties can be easily paid by visiting either http://harryfox.com or http://www.songfile.com. You can pay the royalties online and receive a document that shows they are clear to have "X" number of copies replicated of that particular song. As of October 1, 2002 we will need this documentation for each track of the master that has copyrighted songs, even if they are not recorded by the original performer.

We at CD Solutions know this can get confusing, so we have attached a PDF document to this page entitled: "Intellectual Property Licensing for Media Replication". This document does a good job of explaining not only mechanical royalties but also other types of licenses that should serve to make things clearer for you. (Please feel free to distribute it throughout your organization.)

In this day and age where lawsuits abound, we need to be very careful. We understand that these IRMA requirements are a task you may not want to deal with and believe us, CD Solutions is not trying to make it hard to business with us......we are trying to make it safe to do business with us! Any company not taking these precautions are dealing with a major contingent liability that can also involve you.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support! Call us with any questions you may have. (Or any gripes for that matter!) Remember we also do SD Card duplication and USB drive duplication in addition to SD Card sales and USB drive sales.
