“Signature IV is the culmination
of over three years of Primera’s experience in building
printers specifically for the CD-R and DVD-R duplication market.
The printer includes a host of features that are
advantageous to printing onto optical media, including faster
throughput, higher print quality, and support for a wider range
of media sizes and shapes,” said Mark D. Strobel, Vice
President of Sales and Marketing at Primera Technology.
Depending upon print mode selected,
throughput speed has been increased by up to 40% from the
previous model. This
makes Signature IV ideal for either stand-alone operation or for
integration into high-speed disc
autoloaders and duplicators.
High
Print Resolution
Signature IV is ideal for any business or
organization that performs in-house duplication of CD-Rs for
data, software distribution, audio, music and archival purposes. Its 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution, delivering 1.44 million
pixels per square inch, yields extremely high print quality on
graphics and text. Signature
IV also prints photographic images in stunning quality and
realism with no visible dot patterns.
A new SuperPhoto mode, which has been optimized
specifically for high-resolution photographic images, is ideal
for those users who desire the very best print quality possible.
Signature IV has four distinct print modes
which allow the user to specify the level of speed and print
quality desired, the fastest of which is just 27 seconds per
disc. Monochrome
printing is even faster: about
5 seconds per disc at 15% coverage.
Compatible
With Previous Models
Signature IV maintains an identical
footprint, case design and interface to previous CD printers
from Primera Technology. This
enables plug-and-play integration to dozens of automatic loaders
and duplication systems available from third parties.
Three voltage options, 100VAC, 120-127VAC and 220-240VAC,
allow use of the printer in any country in the world.
Label
Design and Color Matching Software Included
Signature IV comes complete with printer
drivers for Windows 95/98/Me and NT/2000.
Also included is “SureThing First Edition for Windows,”
a design program created specifically for the unique shape of
CDs and DVDs. For those who prefer to use their own Windows design
software, the Signature IV's printer driver software will
automatically format the image to the proper size of the disc
and “knock-out” the center hole when printed.
Signature IV comes complete with built-in
color matching software called PrimaColor™.
This allows the user to create disc designs that are true
to industry-standard color tables.
Also new to Signature IV is an exclusive
early-warning ink-level monitoring system.
It tells the user how much ink remains before a run of
discs is started and estimates how many actual discs can be
printed based upon an “on-the-fly” analysis of how much ink
is required for a particular image.
This feature is especially beneficial when Signature IV
is used in conjunction with an unattended autoloader or
automatic disc duplicator.
Media
Versatility
Signature IV prints onto a wide variety of
printable-surface media, including CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R or
any other 120mm optical disc with a printable-surface.
Optional adapter kits are also
available for business card shaped CDs and 80mm mini-discs.
For the best print quality and durability, the use of media
from one of Primera's Authorized Media Partners is
recommended. Current media partners include Maxell, Microboards
PrintWrite, Mitsui, Ricoh and Verbatim.
Also, Primera's own Signature-branded CD-R media features
a protective coating called Tuff-Coat.
This unique surface allows ink to dry immediately,
eliminating any chance of smearing due to handling.
